The world of Slime Rancher 2 is always growing. Expect lots of free content updates as Rainbow Island expands with new worlds to explore, reveals more wiggly, new slimes to wrangle, and exciting, new features are added to change the way you play.

Hello! Last week we launched Slime Rancher 2 (Game Preview) for Xbox Series XS and Windows 10/11 as well as with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), and have been overwhelmed by the reception as a record-shattering number of new ranchers joined Beatrix LeBeau and embarked for a new slime ranching adventure on Rainbow Island.

Not long after Beatrix arrives on Rainbow Island, she discovers a mysterious Conservatory equipped with everything she needs to begin her new slime ranching adventure. This Conservatory has several expansions that can be purchased to expand your Plort production capabilities, by allowing you to build more slime corrals, gardens, chicken coops, silos, and more.

So whether you want to maximize Plort production and ensure that every slime species is represented so you can dominate the Plort Market, or if you prefer a more laid-back approach to give you ample time to find every Treasure Pod hidden in every secret nook and cranny, Slime Rancher 2 lets you play your way and rewards you for doing so. Rainbow Island is full of possibilities, and many of them come from your own imagination.

In an open world the player controls the character Beatrix LeBeau, a rancher who moved from planet Earth to a far away planet to live the life of a slime rancher, centered around ranch construction and the exploration of the environment in order to collect, raise, feed, and breed slimes, gelatinous living organisms of various sizes and characteristics.[2][3]

The game revolves around feeding slimes the correct food so that they can produce "plorts", which can be sold in exchange for Newbucks, a currency required to purchase upgrades for the ranch and its equipment. There are different kinds of slimes in the world, including some introduced for Slime Rancher 2.[4][5] Slimes react and change based on what they are fed.

Players once again assume the role of Beatrix LeBeau in order to catch slimes on the Far, Far Range. Slime Rancher 2's announcement trailer gives it a much more tropical feeling, as it starts off with the player arriving on a small set of islands, journeying through colorful foliage, and, of course, capturing that precious, precious slime.

Developer Monomi Park revealed some of the new locations and mechanics for the new title. Slime Rancher 2 is set on the new Rainbow Island, which has some kind of ancient tech and colorful biomes. The main character Beatrix establishes herself in the conservatory, where she will raise the slimes. A new mechanic involves finding secret caches of resources in the environment.

Most of your gameplay in Slime Rancher 2 will be split between exploration and your ranch. You will need to split your plots between farming and slime pens. Regardless of which you choose, there are upgrades that can be done. Slime pens can be fitted with an automatic feeder and plort sucker to automate the ranching process. You can also install speakers to calm rowdy slime and put nets on the pen to keep them from getting out. When your farming, you can increase the output of crops and poultry by adding on things like fertilizer or grass that contains bugs for your chickens.

I found that costs quickly can add up, so everything about upgrading your ranch is a constantly moving process. One thing that I quickly was reminded of was how important using a net was. One of my first major mistakes involved a Pink Slime prison break. When this happens, the slimes will eat your food up and will plort everywhere, causing unwanted Largos to form. Largos will eventually lead to a Tarr invasion which has the potential to wipe out your entire ranch. The system is fun, though, and nothing feels too out of reach. Each expansion of your ranch is reasonably priced and can be unlocked after a few gameplay sessions.

As you play through the game, you will be able to upgrade your equipment using Slime Science. This is another feature carried over from the first game and lets you unlock new abilities. You can expand your storage, get a jetpack, get a resource drill, or even learn to harvest water. You will also be able to make useful gadgets like teleporters that let you quickly travel to and from your ranch. These gadgets are made through a process of coming slime plorts and harvest nodes that you find while exploring Rainbow Island. You will also be able to make decorations to place around your ranch, and you can find blueprints by opening treasure pods when exploring the wild.

Slime Rancher 2 is another great game by Monomi Park and builds on the success of its predecessor. Whether you are a young or old gamer, there is fun to be had in exploring Rainbow Island and learning to coral your new slimes. With more features on the way, the game has nowhere to go but up from here.

Slime Rancher 2 picks up from the previous title, with head rancher Beatrix LeBeau en route to a new area named Rainbow Island. With this new Slime Rancher instalment, comes reappearances of our favourite slimes such as the cute and lovable but ultimate Hen Hen eating machine, the Tabby Slime as well as adorable new slimes to add to our ranches. For a full list of all the new slimes featured in Slime Rancher 2, read here.

Continue the adventures of Beatrix LeBeau as she journeys across the Slime Sea to Rainbow Island, a land brimming with ancient mysteries, and bursting with wiggly, new slimes to wrangle in this sequel to the smash-hit, Slime Rancher.

The first gameplay trailer was released in 2022 and gave viewers a look at the conservatory where most of the day-to-day ranching chores will take place, along with a bit of exploration, some hidden areas, and, of course, plenty of wild slime collecting.

The first Slime Rancher game has a series of DLC packs that mostly consisted of added cosmetics for your slimes and gear. There were also several free updates for the games that added plenty of game-changing features, including drones that can be programmed to help with various tasks around the ranch, pool party fashion, and huge storage upgrades. We expect Slime Rancher 2 will get the same treatment, consistently improving through updates during its lifecycle.

Over time, you'll fill in more of your map, searching far, wide, high and low to find every slime. And there are a lot of them! There are more than 20 slimes in total, including five that didn't appear in the first game.

As a rancher, you can catch these Slimes with your Vacpack, which is basically a vacuum gun, and then deposit them in corrals back at the Observatory. When placed inside these corrals, their movement is severely restricted and you can stop them from running away. But you also have to feed them the correct type of food that they require regularly, lest they get upset and attempt to break out of their pens.

Do you want to know how to unlock the Ember Valley region in Slime Rancher 2? Slime Rancher 2 is an adventure game played by many people. One of the newest regions added in Slime Rancher 2 is Ember Valley. Ember Valley is full of resources, and there are a lot of adventures you can find there. This guide will show you how to unlock the Ember Valley region in Slime Rancher 2.

That means players have to expect a lot of heat-themed adventures and puzzles in the new region. Players will encounter new slimes who love to live in hot environments. Resources like primordy oil and lava dust can be found in the Ember Valley region.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker, a humorous game about capitalism gone rampant, is also coming to Xbox Series XS today. Slime Rancher 2 will be available in an early access form, letting players get an early look at running a ranch full of happy slimes. While Obsidian Entertainment's Grounded was first added to Xbox Game Pass back in 2020 via Game Preview, the story mode and the rest of the 1.0 update are on the way later in the month.

One of the most important parts of being a Slime Rancher is knowing about each of the different Slime species and understanding their likes and dislikes. There are a number of reasons that this is important, some are as simple as that you don't want to be attacked, while other reasons include making sure they don't die when you leave them alone at your farm. In this Slime Rancher 2 All Slime Guide we'll cover each slime species as well as where you'll be able to find them, their favorite foods, and any other unique quirk to them.
